As one of my first ever professional production projects I worked with singer-songwriter Austin Ryan. He started reaching out to me in 2018, a time in which I was familiar with producing music, but I've never produced anything for someone, let alone vocal mixing. This was my first ever journey into producing a full body of work.
The EP was released in 2020 and features 7 songs: 5 solo songs, 1 interlude and 1 collaboration with J.V.
Wasted
The first ever song we put out is called 'Wasted', it's a fun, uptempo, electronic pop song. The song was received well by our friends. A few months later it got picked up by a big Spotify playlist which resulted into getting over 50k streams on this song alone. The song was followed up by a remix EP, featuring some of Austin's close friends who did a remix on the song.
Physically
Physically was the second single released by Austin. This song was a challenge for me, instrumental wise but also vocal production wise. It ended up having around 17k streams.
Ruined
Ruined is a song that already had a demo. The demo was made by OKULT but never released. Austin asked for the demo and I added my additional productions and drums. We asked one of Austin's friends Dante to do background vocals on this song.
On the EP the song was accompanied by an interlude called 'Got Me', which sounds like an 80's retro version of the song.
Past Life
Past Life is a song that was mostly done by Austin's brother. The beat was made and sent to me to mix and master. I also worked on doing the vocal production on this song. The EP was later named after this song since it basically wrapped up the meaning behind the whole EP.
Rosé
Rosé was the final single off the EP. It's a bubbly upbeat song which emphasizes on living life to the fullest.
Paper Thin (feat. J.V.)
The final track that was made for this EP is called Paper Thin, originally performed solo by J.V. Austin wanted to make this song a collaboration. I worked on the vocal production on this song and a small amount of instrumental mixing.
